Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a Spirit Rock?
A Spirit Rock is an opportunity for Pine Grove Elementary students, parents, and staff to share special days with our community by renting and painting our school rock. It’s a great way to share positivity and excitement in our community. **Reservations MUST be made, and payment received in advance**
Where is the rock located?
Pine Grove Elementary’s “Rock Stars” Spirit Rock is located on Stonegate Parkway, near the sidewalk leading to the main front door.
What can I rent the rock for?
The Spirit Rock can be rented for any reason! For example: birthdays, thanking a teacher or staff member, offering congratulations, recognizing milestones, wishing good luck, or any other kind of positive message!
How do I select my display date?
For example, if your child’s birthday is September 12, sign up for September 12. You may begin painting after 4:30 pm the day before your reservation, and you will have the rock until 4:30 pm the day of your reservation. **Please note that calls cannot be made to the front office for reservation purposes.**
How much does it cost to rent the rock, and how do I pay?
The cost to rent the rock is $20 per day. Payment is due when you make your reservation and can be paid via cash, check, or by CLICKING THIS LINK (preferred method). Check should be made out to PGEA and brought to the school office during school hours. Payments brought to the office should be in an envelope labeled with the name on your reservation and date of the reservation. Please bring correct change as no change can be made. Please make prompt payment, or your reservation could be removed. All payments and reservations are non-refundable, but if you decide you do not want your date, you may offer it to a friend. PGEA cannot offer any refunds on reserved dates. 100% of your donation goes to PGEA. If cost is a concern, please contact pgeaquestions@gmail.com for partial or full scholarship.
What supplies will I need?
You will need approximately 1-2 cans of spray paint for the base coat and additional paint for your design. We recommend spray paint because it dries much more quickly than paint you brush or roll on. For more intricate designs, you might want to bring craft paint, foam brushes, or stencils. You will also need plastic or paper to cover the surrounding ground cover and sidewalks. Please protect cars parked nearby.
What if I reserve the rock and the weather is bad?
The rock can be towel dried and then painted if you choose to brave the elements. If you choose not to paint in rain or snow, please choose the next available date on the Sign-Up Genius. All payments and reservations are non-refundable, but if you decide you do not want your date, you may offer it to a friend. PGEA cannot offer any refunds on reserved dates.
Are there any limitations for how long I can rent the rock?
You may rent the rock for a maximum of two (2) consecutive days.
Can PGEA paint the rock for me?
PGEA is not responsible for painting the rock.
What if the rock is already reserved on the date I want?
Rock reservations are on a first come, first served basis, so make your reservations now! If your preferred date is already reserved, pick the next best thing, either before or after.
What if I’m painting the rock and someone shows up thinking they reserved it?
